Innovating Economics through Currency Design
Published on: 09 Jan 2026

Under the Recognition of International Dimension in Schools (RIDS) programme, M. C. Kejriwal Vidyapeeth conducted an engaging activity on designing a currency for a hypothetical country. The presentation introduced Eldoria, a peaceful, resource-rich nation committed to sustainability, innovation, and cultural heritage. Students presented Eldoria’s official currency, explaining its name, denominations, and design theme.
Students of Class 11 showcased their currency designs before peers and teacher evaluators on 9 January 2026. Each currency note reflected key elements of Eldoria—natural landscapes, national symbols, influential leaders, cultural traditions, and technological progress. Attention was also given to security features such as holographic strips, along with colour schemes, materials, and size variations to ensure usability and visual appeal.
This experiential learning activity seamlessly blended creativity with economic reasoning, as students justified their choices in alignment with Eldoria’s economic structure, trade practices, and environmental priorities, with special emphasis on eco-friendly materials. The presentation was a manifestation of students’ creativity, teamwork, and sound understanding of economic concepts while offering insight into the complexities of currency design and its role in shaping an economy.
