Independence Day Celebration at M. C. Kejriwal Vidyapeeth 2025

The 79th Independence Day was celebrated with pride and enthusiasm at M. C. Kejriwal Vidyapeeth, honouring India’s legacy, unity, and the sacrifices of its freedom fighters.
The occasion was graced by the Guest of Honour, Major Deep Shiekha (Indian Army); Chairman, Mr Kishan Kumar Kejriwal; CEO, Professor Parthasarathi Chakraborthy; Director, Mr Neelkantha Gupta; Trustee, Mr Abhay Kejriwal; Headmaster, Mr Biswajit Majumdar along with teachers, parents, and students.
The programme commenced with the felicitation of Major Deep Shiekha by the Chairman, followed by a ceremonial march-past, the hoisting of the National Flag, and the singing of the National Anthem in unison filling the campus with patriotic fervour.
A thought-provoking speech by the School Captain, Kunal Tiwari urged the youth to safeguard the nation through responsible actions. The cultural segment featured O Alor Pothojatri by the school choir (marking the centenary of legendary music composer and lyricist, Salil Choudhury), a spirited dance performance celebrating the journey of Independence, and the prize distribution ceremony for co-curricular competitions held during the academic year 2025–26.
In her address, Major Deep Shiekha emphasised that service to the nation extends far beyond wearing the uniform. Sharing her inspiring journey as the only woman officer in East Sikkim, she spoke of resilience, the importance of the NCC, and concluded with stirring chants of “Bharat Mata ki Jai!”
The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the School Vice-Captain, Naitik Jain.
