M. C. Kejriwal Vidyapeeth celebrated its 13th Foundation Day on the 19th of June amidst revelry and joy. The school’s reverent and devoted journey in the field of education amply justify the thought behind the inception of the school. The celebrations were carried out in two parts with the junior school performing in the morning and the senior school in the afternoon. The Chief Guests for the occasion were Miss Sunita Sen, Principal, Ballygunj Shiksha Sadan and Prof C. Panduranga Bhatta, of Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata, for the junior and the senior sections respectively. The junior school initiated the celebrations with a beautiful group song ‘It’s a small world’. A delightful orchestra presentation followed a group dance ‘ Harree rere rere amai chere dere dere……’ celebrating the spontaneity and freshness of youth. The little students of MCKV presented ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’ with appropriate exuberance after which the prize distribution ceremony till class 5 was conducted. Miss Sunita Sen, the Chief Guest spoke about the importance of humility while on the pursuit of knowledge and rightly pointed out the value of appreciation on the part of the students for everything that they had. The celebrations of the senior school were initiated by an opening dance to Tagore’s memorable song ‘ Anandaloke Mongolaloke’ upholding the concept of eternal truth. After the Chief Guest was welcomed there followed a series of inspiring speeches by the Chaiman S.S Kejriwalji and our Principal Mr. Neelkanth Gupta. The programme took a refreshing turn with the students performing ‘unconventional rhythm’- a musical bonanza which was innovative and brilliant. Keeping in touch with the consciousness of the modern generation a group dance combining the flavours of the East and the West was performed by the students. It was then time to felicitate the students for their diligent performance in the ICSE and ISC Examinations. The prize distribution for the senior classes and the Inter-house achievements were conducted with enthusiastic cheering and applause. The English skit ‘Awakening’ passed on an enduring message that determination and self-will alleviates barriers of illiteracy and the caste system. The group song ‘Humanity’ made a commendable effort to increase awareness about the dwindling virtues of humanity. The group dance ‘ Vande Mataram’ was performed in the spirit of reverence to our motherland. Members of the staff who had completed 10 years of untiring and devoted service to the school were felicitated by the management. The programme ended with everyone paying their tribute to their country by singing the National Anthem.
