Q.1 "When does the Academic year begin?"
  The academic year begins in the first week of April and ends in the last week of March. Saturdays and Sundays-the weekends are designated holidays, though Saturdays are assigned for compulsory extra-curricular activities.
Q.2 "What is the medium of instruction?"
  English being the global communicator, the school has chosen English as the instructive medium. However, keeping in mind the richness of Indian languages, the vernaculars are also emphasized.
Q.3 "What about vacations and excursions?"
  School vacation details are summarized in the school Calendar. During vacations, the school organizes excursions and short trips to places of interest in and around Kolkata.
Q.4 "What are the school hours?"
  Montessori hous: 9.00 am to 12 noon.
Nursery : 8.45 to 12.30 pm.
KG hours : 8.45 am to 12.40 pm.
Q.5 "Can I know something about the curriculum ?"
  In the Primary Section : English Language & Literature, Hindi/Bengali, Environment Education, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Art & Craft, Drawing, SUPW, Computers (Class I onwards), Moral Science and General Knowledge.
In the Secondary Section: English Language & Literature, Hindi/Bengali, 3rd Language, Mathematics, SUPW Environmental Education, Science (Physics, Chemistry & Biology), History, Geography, Art & Craft, Computer Science, Moral Science, General Knowledge, Sixth Subject in Classes IX & X.
Q.6 "How can I be sure that my child participates in extra and co-curriculum activities ?"
  The School has a spacious playground with top-notch facilities for indoor and outdoor games, with plans of a gymnasium as well. Going beyond textbooks, the school ensures a students holistic development in physique, personality and skills with activities like quizzes, debates elocution contests, declamation contests, recitation, essay competitions, dramatics. A diversified, multifaceted approach to extra-curricular helps every students to find his chosen passion-be it Martial Arts (Judo and karate), Roller Skating, Basket Ball, Soccer, Volley ball, Athletics, Painting. Art and Craft, Yoga, Music (Vocal and Instrumental), Harmonium, Tabla, Indian Classical Music activities are also given due importance.

School Computer Centre: MCKV has set up a most sophisticated computer center, Internet-connected and equipped with latest educational software and hardware.

School Laboratories : State-of-the-art laboratories for Physics, Chemistry and Biology makes these subjects more rewarding for students. Also on the anvil are Geography, Environmental education and Biotechnology laboratories.

Audio-Visual Centre :
Modern and interactive AV teaching aids make learning a pleasure.

Library : A large and comprehensive selection of books, national and international magazines, video and audio tapes, CDs, both Indian and imported, with viewing facilities make the school library a treasure trove of learning.
Q.8 "May we know something about people who run the school : the teachers, the advisory board, the managing committee and the governing council ?"

Q.9 "What about our child's uniform?"
  Light grey shirts, grey pants, school tie, white socks and black shoes. Blue cardigans (blazers from Class Vonwards) for winter. There is no prescribed Montessori uniform. Uniform materials and stationery are available from the school tuck shop.
Q10 "Last but not the least, what does the School expect from us, the parents?"
  MCKV firmly believes that Home and School complement each other. Therefore, the School expects the parents to

>  Accept responsibility for their children's behaviour inside the school as well as outside it.
>  Support the School's curriculum.
>  Be involved in their children's education as far as possible.
>  Encourage their children to participate in all the School's Curricular and extra curricular activities.
>  Accept the professional judgment of the School's faculty.
>  Prospectus and Registration Forms are available at the School's Reception. Counter on producing the child's proof of age and a written application, along with a
    payment of Rs. 250. (9 am to 1 pm, Mon-Fri).
> Selection of students is made from eligible candidates through Admission Tests and Interviews, and is strictly merit-based.
> A Transfer Certificate (TC) is a must in the case of admissions beyond Class II. Students from other states must submit their TC countersigned by the concerned
      District Inspector of Schools.
Q.11 What facilities are available for games and sports ?
  The school students may choose from a wide option of sports and games. Rhese include cricket, football, hockey, badminton, table tennis, basketball, athletics and classical dances etc.
